Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve backend services and customer experiences for the Home & Navigation team.
- Perform low-level system design, API design, and data modeling for scalable, secure, and reliable solutions.
- Implement high-quality production code and maintainable, testable, observable service components.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions and reusable service integrations.
- Own the service and feature lifecycle from development through automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident resolution.
- Use data, metrics, experimentation, feature flags, and analytics to validate approaches and improve performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions and apply AI/ML concepts to real-world products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience, plus at least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Kotlin or Java.
- Experience with Spring Boot, gRPC, REST or GraphQL APIs, cloud platforms preferably AWS, and NoSQL, relational, or caching databases such as Redis, Valkey, or Memcached.
- Experience designing, implementing, and operating moderately complex systems or a small set of related services, including low-level design, API design, and data modeling.
- Experience with application testing, monitoring, debugging, and dashboard creation using tools such as JUnit, Cucumber, Gatling, Splunk, and Datadog.
- Familiarity with scalable service architectures, performance optimization, reliability, resilience, observability, alerting, on-call or incident response, and AI/ML-enabled capabilities.
- French and English bilingualism is considered an asset.
