Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, debug, and optimize custom SAP RICEF objects and business processes.
- Perform SAP ABAP Workbench debugging, BDC, ALE, IDoc processing, FI validations and substitutions, batch processing, and object-oriented development with SAP classes and methods.
- Architect and develop SAP integrations using Web Services, APIs, EDI standards, RFCs, ALE, IDoc mapping, SAP Gateway, and OData.
- Extend SAP standard programs using the SAP enhancement framework, user exits, BADIs, data dictionary objects, BAPIs, SAPScript, conversions, interfaces, and module pool programming.
- Collaborate with functional and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and architecture-aligned solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve technical defects across IDocs, Web Services, and RFC interfaces.
- Create technical design documentation and lead unit, integration, and release testing.
- Research and recommend modernization solutions, evaluate integrated platforms, and provide hands-on direction for end-to-end architecture and integration initiatives.
- Champion architectural governance and guide product and technical trade-offs across a cross-functional decision group.
Requirements
- 7+ years of extensive hands-on SAP ABAP development and architecture experience.
- Experience designing and modifying RICEF objects using ABAP Workbench, Data Dictionary, Module Pool programming, BDC, BAPIs, and SAPScript.
- Proven experience with object-oriented ABAP and extending standard SAP programs through the SAP Enhancement Framework, BADIs, and User Exits.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting Web Services, APIs, RFCs, EDI/IDoc data mapping, ALE, and IDoc processing.
- Experience writing detailed technical specifications and leading unit, integration, and release testing.
- Hands-on SAP S/4HANA experience, including ABAP on HANA development, code remediation, CDS Views, and OData models using SAP Gateway Service Builder.
- Working knowledge of SAP FI/CO, AP, AR, and SD modules, including FI validations and substitutions.
- Experience with SAP Fiori and Gateway development.
- Integration experience with Coupa and the OneSource Tax engine.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, multitasking, independent initiative, and written and verbal communication skills.
