Responsibilities
- Build an enterprise agentic framework for orchestration, retrieval, multi-agent collaboration, tool and MCP integration, planning, hand-offs, shared state, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and graceful failure.
- Write production-grade, efficient, structured, and testable code for services, experimentation harnesses, and internal tooling.
- Develop golden datasets, offline and online evaluations, CI regression suites, guardrails, tracing, and telemetry for agentic systems.
- Design and promote security, architecture, internal protocol, API, testing, observability, and software-quality standards.
- Monitor and improve latency, quality, token spend, cost profiles, and failure modes in non-deterministic AI systems.
- Provide technical leadership through code reviews, design documents, workshops, mentoring, technical discussions, and cross-team alignment.
- Guide multiple teams toward reusable agent-design, tool-exposure, retrieval, and architecture standards while balancing complexity and implementation cost.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful cross-team influence at Staff, Principal, or equivalent level.
- Recent experience taking LLM-based systems into production rather than only building prototypes.
- Strong coding fundamentals and experience with API design, concurrency, data modeling, testing, CI/CD, and containerized deployment.
- Practical experience with agent orchestration, tool calling, structured outputs, multi-step planning, memory and state, and long-running partially failing workflows.
- Experience with access-controlled retrieval, LLM-as-judge, drift detection, model routing, caching, compression, observability, and tracing for non-deterministic systems.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, align stakeholders, write decision-enabling documents, mentor others, and connect technical decisions to product value.
- Clear communication in English.
- Deep engineering craft and the ability to teach, defend, and embed strong practices, including testing, software quality, observability, DORA, and non-functional requirements.
