Base Salary
$209k - $286k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Design and implement large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture and long-term technology direction.
- Partner with architects and product leaders on platform roadmaps and shared-services strategy.
- Use Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
- Mentor engineers, lead architectural design reviews, establish coding standards, and drive cross-functional engineering initiatives.
- Apply observability and reliability practices to identify and optimize performance bottlenecks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 9+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred: experience with open-source frameworks, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, databases, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and Git-based version control.
- Preferred: experience troubleshooting cloud environments, mentoring senior engineers, applying observability and reliability practices, leading architecture reviews, enforcing coding standards, and influencing technology strategy.
- Experience with modern AI-based coding tools, interactive AI tooling, cross-functional engineering efforts, and large-scale technical initiatives.
