Base Salary
$170k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and ship subsystems across the full stack, from React/Remix frontend through Node.js backend and Python AI service integrations.
- Build AI-native interfaces, application-building tools, AI agents, real-time collaboration features, voice interfaces, and mobile-first experiences.
- Develop discovery and sharing systems for educators and integrate with Google Workspace, Canvas LMS, and other educational platforms.
- Run small experiments quickly and productionize the approaches that prove valuable.
- Evaluate web technologies and patterns, write comprehensive tests and documentation, and improve team processes.
- Drive strategic technical decisions and mentor engineers through pairing and code reviews.
- Collaborate with designers, ML engineers, product teams, and customers to solve user needs.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building production web applications across frontend and backend.
- Strong experience with modern React frameworks, including Remix, and TypeScript.
- Strong experience building backend services with Node and TypeScript.
- Strong experience with databases, APIs, and integrations with external services.
- Ability to work effectively with designers and translate designs into working features.
- Comfort working cross-functionally and directly with customers.
- Strong communication skills for a remote-first environment.
- Bonus: experience designing or building AI-powered interfaces.
- Bonus: experience with real-time collaborative features such as WebSockets and CRDTs.
- Bonus: experience with educational technology or mission-driven organizations.
- Bonus: knowledge of accessibility and internationalization best practices.
- Bonus: experience integrating with LMS platforms or educational systems.
