Responsibilities
- Write and maintain high-quality Elixir/Phoenix code.
- Build scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems using Elixir’s concurrency model.
- Develop data pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and transformation.
- Implement event-driven architectures and real-time system components.
- Work with GCP cloud services and modern infrastructure practices.
- Contribute to technical decisions, architecture discussions, technical direction, and system design.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, maintainable features.
- Address complex technical challenges and contribute innovative, efficient solutions.
- Mentor engineers and help improve team processes, tools, and technologies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- 2+ years of focused experience with Elixir.
- Experience building and maintaining distributed systems in production.
- Strong proficiency in Elixir/Phoenix and familiarity with the OTP ecosystem.
- Understanding of functional programming, concurrent system design, distributed system patterns, and microservices architecture.
- Experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
- Experience with data pipelines and processing systems, database systems, and event streaming platforms.
- Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
- Experience working with high-throughput systems.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to learn from and mentor other engineers.
- Preferred qualifications include startup experience, logistics or supply chain experience, React and TypeScript familiarity, OMS/WMS/TMS experience, GenServer and fault-tolerant system experience, Phoenix LiveView experience, Erlang/OTP supervision tree and distributed Erlang cluster knowledge, message queue and event streaming experience, observability tool experience, and open-source Elixir contributions.
