Base Salary
$167k - $242k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable systems and user-facing workflows for Upstart Bank's core platform.
- Own technical design and delivery for medium-to-large engineering projects.
- Translate business, operational, and regulatory requirements into reliable software.
- Improve system reliability, performance, and data consistency across services.
- Contribute to architecture and design discussions for scalable systems.
- Partner with product, compliance, and operations teams to deliver solutions.
- Uphold high engineering standards through implementation and code review.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
- 4 years of experience building and operating production software systems.
- Experience in building scalable services, APIs, or web applications in cloud environments.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, or Kotlin.
- Experience owning the technical delivery of medium-to-large engineering projects.
