Base Salary
$194k - $352k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop robust, reliable, optimized production controls software following ISO 26262 safety standards.
- Improve planner-controller interactions and advanced control strategies across parking-lot and highway driving conditions, weather, and road surfaces.
- Integrate the controls stack with new vehicle platforms.
- Explore machine learning for vehicle dynamics and controls to improve vehicle performance, drivability, and vehicle-platform bringup time.
- Collaborate with autonomy, hardware, base software, vehicle testing, and systems engineering teams.
Requirements
- MS or Ph.D. in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, aerospace, robotics, or a closely related field is preferred.
- At least 5 years of industry experience, including at least 3 years developing and deploying L2+ or higher automated-driving controls software at scale.
- Deep knowledge of vehicle dynamics, controls theory, control strategy development, and testing.
- Experience implementing classical and modern controls methods and/or machine learning for controls.
- Strong embedded C or C++ programming skills, with C preferred.
- Strong foundation in geometry, calculus, probability, physics, kinematics, dynamics, and analytical problem-solving.
- Comfort working with GenAI-assisted engineering workflows such as Claude Code, Gemini, and Cursor.
- Strong collaboration, oral communication, written communication, adaptability, accountability, and self-direction.
Benefits
- Base pay range of $193,930 to $352,290 per year, depending on level and factors including experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills.
