Responsibilities
- Build prototypes and evaluate technical feasibility for practical healthcare AI use cases.
- Develop AI-powered features and services, including information extraction, clinical summarization, decision support, and documentation generation.
- Integrate LLMs and model APIs into product workflows while optimizing cost, quality, and latency.
- Design and maintain RAG pipelines, semantic search capabilities, data ingestion, indexing, and structuring pipelines.
- Develop NLP components for extraction, analysis, classification, and structured output from medical and healthcare data.
- Build AI deployment pipelines with model versioning, prompt management, monitoring, evaluation, rollback, and escalation practices.
- Monitor model quality, performance, cost, reliability, security, hallucination rates, latency, and model drift.
- Collaborate with R&D, Product, and Architecture teams and contribute to AI standards, best practices, and governance frameworks.
- Document AI architectures, design decisions, and operational practices.
Requirements
- Bilingualism in English and French is mandatory; interviews are conducted mostly in French.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience developing robust software applications or services.
- Demonstrated experience with LLM and AI model integration, data engineering and RAG architectures, or AI deployment, MLOps, or LLMOps.
- Strong understanding of data quality, transformation, traceability, governance, and human oversight in AI systems.
- Recent hands-on experience with AI solutions and modern AI development tools, with the ability to critically evaluate their outputs and limitations.
- Strong proficiency in Python and the modern AI ecosystem.
- Preferred qualifications include a relevant technical portfolio, open-source contributions, or GitHub profile.
- Preferred experience includes digital health or regulated industries, HL7 v2, FHIR, Quebec's Law 25, PIPEDA, sovereign or on-premises AI deployments, MLOps/LLMOps, PEFT, and LoRA.
- Backend development experience with C#/.NET and familiarity with data pipelines, vector databases, semantic search, NLP, AI orchestration frameworks, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Hugging Face Transformers.
