Base Salary
$87k - $144k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise software solutions using Java and related technologies.
- Develop and support cloud-native microservices and RESTful APIs running in Microsoft Azure environments.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions and recommend maintainable engineering solutions.
- Write, review, and maintain high-quality, testable, and maintainable code.
- Troubleshoot complex application, performance, and production support issues and conduct root-cause analysis.
- Design and work with complex data models and database structures.
- Collaborate with Product, Architecture, SRE, QA, peer engineering teams, and internal and external technology partners.
- Use AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to improve software quality and delivery efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews, promote engineering best practices, and mentor junior engineers.
- Contribute to system reliability, observability, performance tuning, production support, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Support modernization efforts involving migration of legacy applications to cloud-native platforms.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
- At least 4 years of hands-on Java development experience building enterprise applications.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience developing and supporting cloud-native applications in Microsoft Azure or similar cloud environments.
- Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, messaging platforms, relational and NoSQL databases, and automated testing frameworks.
- Experience supporting highly available enterprise platforms, production incidents, root-cause analysis, and operational improvements.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service, Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Maven, and automated deployment processes.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, data modeling, database optimization, application resiliency, observability, and secure coding practices.
- Experience with complex enterprise-scale applications and multiple data storage technologies.
- Ability to independently deliver complex technical solutions from design through production support.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior and mid-level engineers and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience, is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot is required or expected.
