Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, test, debug, and implement complex software enhancements and solutions.
- Contribute technical leadership and product architecture guidance across team and system boundaries.
- Develop cloud-native, highly transactional, concurrent, and event-driven applications using Java and related technologies.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Managers, and engineering teams to create sustainable solutions to complex problems.
- Write unit and automation tests, conduct manual testing, and improve development and testing methodologies.
- Perform expert troubleshooting for large, mission-critical client implementations.
- Review code, provide critical analysis of proposed changes, and help maintain technical quality.
- Participate in scrum activities including standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Plan and coordinate cross-team activities and mentor junior staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- At least 9 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience in core and enterprise Java, including collections APIs, concurrency, multithreading, JDBC, and web services.
- At least 6 years of experience designing and developing software for highly transactional, concurrent, event-driven systems.
- At least 6 years of cloud-native application development experience on one or more cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- At least 8 years of experience with Spring Boot, microservices, Kafka, and cloud databases.
- Extensive RDBMS experience with Oracle and SQL Server, including complex and high-performing SQL and transactional database concepts.
- Experience designing and developing simple solutions for complex business and technical problems involving high-performance, multi-tiered database applications.
- Preferred experience with financial trading systems and UI development using C#, React, and JavaScript.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with peers.
- Ability to understand Agile development methodology and software development practices and principles.
