Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives to meet sales goals across large Financial Services and Insurance accounts in the UK and Ireland.
- Manage technical aspects of sales cycles from initial meetings through final presentations.
- Conduct comprehensive discovery to understand client business needs.
- Write and organize technical responses for RFPs and formal proposals.
- Build and present proof-of-concept applications addressing specific customer problems.
- Explain technical details and business benefits to executives and stakeholders.
- Handle technical objections and answer detailed product questions.
- Represent Appian at industry events, conferences, and seminars.
- Build long-term relationships with technical staff at target accounts.
- Coordinate with internal teams to obtain resources and information needed to close deals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- At least 10 years of experience as a Solutions Consultant or Sales Engineer for enterprise software.
- Hands-on technical background, such as prior Software Engineer or Technical Consultant experience.
- Ability to partner with sales on account planning and revenue targets.
- Strong knowledge of APIs, application servers, databases, production environments, and enterprise software functionality.
- Experience working with large Financial Services and Insurance organizations.
- Must live in the UK and within commuting distance of Appian’s London office.
- Willingness to attend the office weekly and travel approximately 30%.
