Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Manage and scale complex containerized workloads on Kubernetes clusters in AWS GovCloud.
- Automate infrastructure, configuration, and deployment pipelines using Terraform, Terragrunt, Docker, AWS, and Argo CD.
- Design and maintain air-gapped deployment methodologies for secure, isolated environments.
- Build and optimize monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability systems for high availability.
- Troubleshoot complex distributed-system, platform, infrastructure, and network issues.
- Implement enterprise security standards and maintain compliance with federal requirements.
- Collaborate with development teams, security leaders, and cross-functional partners.
- Write technical documentation, participate in architectural reviews, and mentor team members.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required for federal government contract work.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph; an active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph is strongly preferred.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience building, scaling, and maintaining production cloud infrastructure, DevOps pipelines, or platform engineering systems; the senior track requires 5+ years.
- At least 2 years of experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform or Terragrunt; the senior track requires 3+ years.
- At least 2 years of experience managing continuous delivery pipelines with Argo CD, Jenkins, or GitLab CI; the senior track requires 3+ years.
- At least 2 years of programming or scripting experience, preferably with Go or Python; the senior track requires 3+ years.
- At least 1 year of independently leading technical initiatives, troubleshooting distributed systems, and mentoring junior engineers; the senior track requires 3+ years.
- Deep production experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS, ideally AWS GovCloud, is preferred.
- Experience with air-gapped systems, isolated cloud architectures, observability platforms, federal security frameworks, and DoD 8570/8140 credentials is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent military/practical engineering experience, is preferred.
Benefits
- Annualized base salary for the primary Reston, Virginia location is $137,000-$205,400 USD, with additional U.S. location ranges of $123,900-$222,000 USD.
- May be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or role-specific commission/bonus and annual refresh stock grants.
- Flexible work arrangement with at least 50% of time each quarter in the office or field; the role may require onsite work in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area.
