Base Salary
$220k - $270k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own AWS infrastructure direction and platform evolution, including migration from ECS/Fargate toward a more modern scalable runtime.
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code and container foundations using Terraform and Docker.
- Develop CI/CD systems, ephemeral environments, preview deployments, and developer experience improvements.
- Define observability standards across metrics, logs, tracing, alerting, dashboards, SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Lead high-severity incidents, on-call operations, postmortems, and reliability improvements.
- Design resilient and scalable systems, write production-quality automation, reduce toil, and lower operational risk.
- Mentor engineers and influence infrastructure practices and engineering decisions across teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure, or SRE roles.
- Experience with a modern programming language such as TypeScript and a track record of writing production-quality scripts, tools, and services while remaining hands-on.
- Deep experience running production workloads on AWS, including container platforms such as ECS/Fargate.
- Expertise with Terraform, Docker, and Git workflows in production.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and Helm.
- Experience designing and operating CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, including build parallelization and developer experience improvements.
- Deep experience with observability, including metrics, logs, tracing, alerting, SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Experience operating distributed systems at scale, including messaging systems, partitioning, deployment strategies, and failure modes.
- Track record of leading high-severity incidents, debugging live production issues, and running blameless postmortems.
- Experience evaluating architectures, making trade-offs, and driving infrastructure decisions across teams and environments.
- Experience mentoring engineers and shaping infrastructure practices across an engineering organization.
- Nice to have: broad infrastructure ownership at a high-growth startup, Kafka or similar distributed messaging experience, developer tooling experience, and Prisma expertise.
