Responsibilities
- Partner with the Corporate/New Business sales team as the technical and domain expert for customer-facing sales activities.
- Understand customer challenges and deliver product demonstrations aligned with customer needs.
- Answer product, feature, and technical questions from customers, partners, and colleagues.
- Plan and deliver proofs of concept for complex customer use cases in collaboration with Okta engineering teams.
- Provide product-management feedback on enhancements that address customer needs.
- Share reusable assets and best practices with other Solutions Engineers.
- Maintain knowledge of competitive analysis and market differentiation.
- Support executive briefings, conferences, user groups, trade shows, and other marketing events.
- Develop subject-matter expertise in product solutions and competitive knowledge when needed.
- Manage territory activities, build pipeline, and collaborate with sales counterparts to achieve sales goals.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of pre-sales engineering experience in identity and access management.
- Strong understanding of IAM concepts, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, lifecycle management, role-based access control, and provisioning/deprovisioning.
- Hands-on experience in web, mobile, backend, or IP-based real-time communications development.
- Experience with REST APIs, API Gateways, SDKs, and deploying applications on cloud platforms.
- Understanding of application security concerns including password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, and XSRF.
- Experience in a customer-facing role and ability to communicate complex technical concepts and present to technical and executive audiences.
- Territory management, pipeline-building, sales collaboration, and technical diagramming experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field is preferred.
- Preferred experience includes Auth0, Auth0 FGA, OpenFGA, generative AI or LLM technologies, LangChain, GenKit, LlamaIndex, microservices, data lakes, customer data platforms, ReBAC, or fine-grained authorization.
