Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, implement, maintain, and tune resilient microservices applications for a distributed payment system.
- Participate in system and application architecture and create system design and maintenance documentation.
- Write clean, maintainable, testable, efficient code according to standards and best practices.
- Develop and operate APIs, microservices, and containerized applications using Spring Boot, Istio, Envoy, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Design and develop relational databases and data models, including Oracle-based systems.
- Collaborate on architectural visions and contribute to enterprise-level frameworks and software solutions.
- Conduct system, application, and performance testing and tuning.
- Participate in the delivery of software components within an agile development process.
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of software development experience, preferably including payment-system development.
- Eligibility to work full-time for Interac Corp. in Canada.
- Strong Java development experience and proficiency in multiple programming languages.
- Expertise designing and developing RESTful APIs and understanding web protocols.
- Strong knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Netty, Maven, SQL, Bamboo, JavaScript, Node, Knockout, JQuery, Hazelcast, and Memcached.
- Strong understanding of high-performance service-oriented architectures, relational databases, data modeling, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
- Experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL, microservice architectures, and containerization.
- Ability to contribute to enterprise-level frameworks and broad functional and technical software solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
