Base Salary
$136k - $245k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and operate highly reliable software services that model network entities and relationships.
- Provide technical guidance and collaborate with stakeholders to identify network data and use cases that improve network reliability, visibility, planning, and customer experience.
- Build solutions that use the unified network model to support product capabilities, customer troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and capacity planning.
- Lead discussions on software requirements, architecture, performance, scalability, reliability, and design trade-offs.
- Integrate the unified network model with Equinix Brain and other network and Network-as-a-Service initiatives.
- Establish development and operational best practices while contributing directly through software development.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience developing distributed, scalable, highly available software services using Golang.
- Experience designing microservices and production-ready systems at scale for SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, or cloud-based companies.
- Experience building and operating software-as-a-service systems with 24x7 on-call rotations.
- Proficiency with GCP Spanner, MongoDB, Redis, and Neo4J.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or comparable open-source containerization and orchestration technologies.
- Experience with network-management protocols including gRPC and Netconf, plus strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols such as ISIS, BGP, BMP, and LLDP.
- Experience building and operating highly reliable distributed systems.
- Proficiency with GitHub Actions and ArgoCD, and experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure services.
- Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Thanos.
- Experience with JIRA, peer reviews, Git, and continuous integration and deployment practices.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree or PhD, excellent Golang coding skills, network-modeling or digital-twin experience, and experience using AI for real-time network decisions.
