Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of software development for reliable, secure, scalable, high-traffic cloud services.
- Design and evolve real-time, event-driven data-streaming pipelines with high throughput, low latency, and fault tolerance.
- Own large-scale platform engineering across solution design, architecture, quality, deployment, incident response, and ongoing support.
- Lead complex projects and initiatives across engineering teams, architects, product managers, and other stakeholders.
- Drive scalable orchestration of data processing and influence engineering solutions across Autodesk divisions.
- Mentor engineers and peers, guide technical discussions, and improve engineering practices and team productivity.
- Drive incident investigations, root-cause analysis, timely resolutions, and preventive improvements.
- Document and present technical solutions while translating high-level requirements into incremental product enhancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 9+ years of hands-on experience in software design and development for cloud-based services.
- Expert-level proficiency in Java and extensive software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, Lambda, SQS/SNS, Aurora, and DynamoDB.
- Extensive experience building high-performance, scalable applications using caching technologies such as Redis and MemoryDB.
- Hands-on experience building and operating data-streaming systems such as Apache Kafka and designing high-throughput, fault-tolerant pipelines.
- Strong experience with complex distributed systems, cloud projects spanning multiple teams, API development, and REST solutions.
- Proven ability to lead engineering teams, complex projects, incident response, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience working with distributed teams across geographies and time zones in Agile development environments.
- Preferred experience includes Apache Flink or another stream-processing engine, Jenkins deployment pipelines, cloud-scale database design, and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana.
- Preferred qualifications also include strong architectural knowledge, strategic engineering leadership, excellent communication skills, and experience inspiring engineering teams.
