Base Salary
$160k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement guidance and navigation software within COTS software frameworks
- Lead guidance software design for a clean-sheet airframe
- Support airframe design activities
- Support system integration of software on flight hardware
- Work full-time on-site in Hawthorne, Los Angeles, California
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- At least 10 years of professional object-oriented software development experience
- Experience designing and implementing guidance algorithms for UAS platforms using commercial autopilot frameworks such as ArduPilot
- Practical understanding of fixed-wing and rotary-wing flight dynamics
- Extensive software development experience on STM32 or similar microcontroller architectures and Linux hosted on Nvidia Jetson, AMD/Xilinx SoC, or Microblaze architectures
- Experience developing real-time embedded software and hardware interfaces
- Experience integrating vendor-provided low-level drivers and firmware
- Experience with Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Test-Driven Development
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate on small teams
- U.S. Person status required to access U.S.-only data systems
- Current or previous DoD security clearance preferred
- Part 107 remote pilot certification preferred
- Experience with EO/IR and radar sensor integration preferred
- Experience with VHDL firmware development and embedded software development flows on AMD/Xilinx FPGAs preferred
- Experience with Git preferred
- Experience with production-level software development and deployment, including DevOps, DevSecOps, or CI/CD using modern FOSS/COTS toolsets preferred
- Experience with full-lifecycle software development and HW/SW integration, testing, and verification of high-TRL systems preferred
