Software Engineer - Guidance, Navigation, and Controls

Base Salary
$160k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement guidance and navigation software within commercial off-the-shelf software frameworks
- Lead the design of guidance software for a clean-sheet airframe
- Support airframe design activities
- Integrate software onto flight hardware
- Collaborate with small engineering teams and work with minimal supervision
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- At least 10 years of professional object-oriented software development experience
- Experience designing and implementing guidance algorithms for UAS platforms using commercial autopilot frameworks such as ArduPilot
- Practical understanding of fixed-wing and rotary-wing flight dynamics
- Extensive experience developing software for STM32 or similar microcontrollers and Linux hosted on Nvidia Jetson, AMD/Xilinx SoC, or Microblaze architectures
- Experience developing real-time embedded software with hardware interfaces
- Experience integrating vendor-provided low-level drivers and firmware
- U.S. Person status required to access U.S.-only data systems
- Preferred: current or previous DoD security clearance and Part 107 remote pilot certification
- Preferred: EO/IR and radar sensor integration experience
- Preferred: VHDL firmware development and embedded software flows on AMD/Xilinx FPGAs
- Preferred: Git, production-level software development and deployment, DevOps, DevSecOps, or CI/CD experience
- Preferred: full-lifecycle software development and HW/SW integration, testing, and verification of high-TRL systems
