Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve scalable, maintainable, and high-performing Java software applications.
- Develop backend applications using Java, microservices architecture, and RESTful APIs.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and stakeholders to define requirements and solution strategies.
- Participate in code reviews, promote code quality, and share technical knowledge.
- Implement secure coding and unit testing practices to improve software reliability and protect sensitive data.
- Guide technical direction, lead complex assignments, coach less experienced specialists, and advise senior stakeholders.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, assess risks, strengthen controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Proficiency in Java and expertise developing and optimizing Java-based applications.
- Experience designing scalable backend applications in Java.
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
- Proficiency with Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
- Familiarity with the complete software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Ability to contribute to technical direction, strategic decisions, stakeholder management, and risk and controls activities.
- Experience with GitLab pipelines and TeamCity is highly valued.
- Experience redesigning applications and driving simplification efforts is highly valued.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is highly valued.
