Responsibilities
- Design scalable Java and Spring Boot microservices for high-volume transactional workloads.
- Build and optimize Kafka-based event streaming solutions and resilient distributed integrations.
- Design event-sourced aggregates, CQRS read models, saga workflows, reconciliation loops, and canonical event contracts.
- Develop secure REST APIs and AI-native APIs using JSON Schema, OpenAPI, JSON-LD, JSONata, and CloudEvents.
- Design zero-trust service meshes, OAuth2 and OpenID Connect authorization, fine-grained permissions, and privacy controls for PII and PHI.
- Create Kubernetes-native deployments and infrastructure as code using Terraform, Helm, and Kustomize.
- Design observability using OpenTelemetry and analyze logs, metrics, and traces to resolve production issues.
- Develop integration, contract, mutation, property-based, unit, and AI-generated end-to-end testing frameworks.
- Optimize SQL queries, database schemas, caching strategies, performance, and resource usage.
- Document technical designs, service contracts, APIs, and deployment procedures while collaborating with product, architecture, security, and compliance stakeholders.
- Support continuous integration, continuous delivery, build automation, and deployment improvements.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with Java 17 or later and Core Java in complex enterprise backend systems.
- Strong proficiency designing and delivering Spring Boot microservices, including security and performance tuning.
- Hands-on Kafka experience covering topic design, consumer groups, event processing, and resilient asynchronous communication.
- Strong SQL and relational data-modeling skills, including schemas, indexes, queries, and transactional workloads.
- Experience with GCP services for deploying, monitoring, and scaling backend workloads.
- Proficiency in Python for automation, data processing, transformations, and integration workflows.
- Experience with distributed systems, event sourcing, CQRS, saga patterns, transactional outbox designs, and event-driven architectures.
- Proficiency in at least two of Java, Kotlin, Go, TypeScript with Node.js, and Python.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Kustomize, OpenTelemetry, secure APIs, and cloud-agnostic infrastructure patterns.
- Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer certification or an equivalent cloud certification such as GCP Professional Cloud Developer.
- Preferred qualifications include insurance-domain experience, NATS JetStream, large-scale event-sourced systems, ACORD standards, multi-region or cell-based deployments, SOC 2, GDPR, DPDP, and configurable multi-tenant authorization systems.
