Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software and platform capabilities.
- Lead functional requirements gathering, technical specification development, and project and test planning.
- Develop and operate scalable, highly available web and observability platforms using Splunk, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and general-purpose programming languages.
- Create onboarding specifications, troubleshooting and patch processes, incident-management procedures, and security-breach response plans.
- Develop disaster-recovery, migration, rollback, expansion, deployment, and system-upgrade plans.
- Respond to monitoring alerts, participate in root-cause analysis, manage deployment and RCA processes, and improve operational procedures.
- Maintain real-time system-health dashboards and provide performance, availability, and reliability metrics.
- Collaborate with product management, QA/QE, product lines, and business units, and contribute to operational standards and design reviews.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a Splunk or ETL infrastructure lead, developer, and administrator in a large enterprise environment.
- Experience with Splunk index and search head clustering, Splunk configuration, search processing language, regular expressions, and search optimization.
- Knowledge of AWS Auto Scaling Groups, Route 53, Transit Gateway, networking, and compute services.
- Experience with Unix/Linux, distributed and parallel systems, workflow automation, cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, and Kubernetes/container-platform development.
- Proficiency in Python or other general-purpose programming languages.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker container-based development, packaging, and deployments.
- Familiarity with open-source technologies, modern web frameworks, cloud/SaaS environments, and the full software development life cycle.
- Ability to produce incident-management reports, technical documentation, operational tools, and application deployment plans.
- Ability to conduct design reviews, risk analysis, and root-cause analysis while adhering to code and operational standards.
