Base Salary
$140k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Rearchitect the core CRM data model covering leads, contacts, opportunities, and custom objects.
- Plan and execute migrations and rearchitecture projects without taking the product offline.
- Build CRM tools and endpoints that allow AI agents and MCP-compatible systems to traverse, filter, and reason over customer data.
- Ship AI-native features such as agentic enrichment, AI-powered data cleaning, and richer AI search.
- Optimize hot paths including lead lookup, deal updates, pipeline scanning, and bulk actions.
- Design, build, and operate reliable backend systems while responding to production incidents and customer-impacting performance issues.
Requirements
- Seasoned backend engineering experience with Python and willingness to choose appropriate tools such as Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
- Experience designing architectures and systems that other engineers build on.
- Experience planning migrations and sequencing complex rearchitectures into independently shippable pieces.
- Strong understanding of data models, schemas, relationships, normalization, query design, and retrieval systems.
- Production experience shipping meaningful LLM-backed or agentic features to real users.
- Experience owning systems with real customer impact, debugging incidents, managing latency, or participating in on-call responsibilities.
- A builder-oriented approach focused on shipping practical versions quickly.
- Experience with Elasticsearch, Lucene internals, query planning, relevance, indexing at scale, or operating search engines is a significant bonus.
