Responsibilities

Embed with portfolio-company GMs, operators, and customer success leads to understand operating models and identify leverage points.
Select two or three high-impact workflows for agentic software rather than pursuing a broad wish list.
Build integrations, prompts, evaluations, workflows, and UI surfaces required to deploy the first agentic loop.
Operate deployed systems by monitoring outcomes, tuning prompts, adjusting autonomy tiers, and handing stable systems to portfolio operations.
Bring deployment learnings back to Beacon headquarters and codify them into reusable playbooks for other portfolio companies.
Own the technical relationship with the portfolio-company GM, including trust-building and expectation-setting.

Strong generalist engineering skills with the ability to ship full-stack TypeScript or Python on the backend, React on the frontend, and SQL.
Production experience building software with foundation models, including prompts, evaluations, fine-tuning decisions, autonomy gating, and outcome tracking.
Ability to work autonomously in unfamiliar codebases and operate as the primary Beacon engineer embedded at a portfolio company.
Strong written communication skills for wedge memos, GM updates, deployment retrospectives, and reusable playbooks.
Customer- and operator-oriented approach with the ability to understand business economics and prioritize high-impact workflows.
Prior FDE experience is a bonus.
Private equity, consulting, or M&A diligence exposure is a bonus.
Comfort with Iceberg-based data platforms, Snowflake, Databricks, and event-driven systems is a bonus.
Experience building or operating agentic systems in production is a bonus.
