Base Salary
$106k - $209k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement new features in MongoDB’s $search and $vectorSearch aggregation operators.
- Define query and index syntax cross-functionally with Product teams.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in filter queries and nearest-neighbor search.
- Lead projects and own subsystems.
- Review code and technical designs, and mentor junior developers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience working on large-scale backend systems.
- Experience writing high-performance applications in Java or another JVM language.
- Interest in optimization, code quality, and complex problem solving.
- Ability and desire to learn quickly through challenges, reflection, and feedback.
- Preferred experience with Apache Lucene, vector databases, or high-throughput web services.
