Base Salary
$160k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of authentication, authorization, access-control, and policy-driven distributed security solutions.
- Architect and operate cloud-native microservices and web APIs on public cloud platforms.
- Define APIs, technical designs, architecture documentation, deployment practices, and engineering standards.
- Build containerized workloads, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code configurations, observability, centralized logging, and analytics solutions.
- Design data models and manage relational and graph-based data stores for authorization relationships and permissions.
- Lead security reviews, remediate issues, and ensure services are secure, reliable, scalable, and maintainable.
- Mentor and coach engineers and provide technical leadership across teams and platform roadmaps.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a software engineer or security engineer, including authentication, authorization, or access-control work.
- Experience in a senior or lead engineering role owning services or platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Production experience designing authentication flows and authorization models using open standards.
- Experience building role-based and attribute-based access-control systems for complex use cases.
- Strong programming skills in one or more of Go, Java, Python, JavaScript, or SQL.
- Experience with cloud-native microservices, web APIs, public cloud services, containers, orchestration, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, relational or graph databases, and data modeling.
- Preferred qualifications include deep experience with distributed authorization, policy engines, graph-based authorization, centralized logging, high-availability observability, event streaming, and message-driven architectures.
- Preferred qualifications include technical leadership across teams, platform modernization, end-to-end ownership, and strong written and verbal communication.
