Responsibilities
- Set frontend architecture and engineering direction across React, React Native, and the shared monorepo.
- Own cross-team platform capabilities, shared libraries, design-system foundations, developer tooling, and developer experience.
- Lead decisions involving application boundaries, abstractions, state and data flow, performance, testing, and migration strategy.
- Diagnose and resolve systemic rendering, bundle, runtime, and release-quality problems.
- Remain hands-on with implementation, prototyping, and technical investigation when appropriate.
- Partner with product, backend engineering, and QA on cross-team risks and decisions.
- Mentor senior engineers and improve code review quality and repeatable frontend judgment.
- Balance standardization with team autonomy and avoid unnecessarily costly platform work.
Requirements
- Demonstrated architectural or platform impact across multiple frontend teams.
- Deep ownership of complex production systems built with React or React Native and TypeScript.
- Strong judgment in application boundaries, shared libraries, state management, performance, and migration design.
- Track record of improving developer effectiveness, reliability, or product quality through durable mechanisms.
- Practical experience diagnosing performance and correctness issues across web or mobile systems.
- Ability to influence technical direction through evidence, clarity, and trusted execution.
- Clear communication and strong engineering and product judgment.
- The role assesses Staff scope through ownership, judgment, and sustained organizational impact rather than years of experience or familiarity with every listed technology.
