Application Security Engineer (West Coast)

Responsibilities
- Educate customers on secure development processes and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
- Provide formal client training and drive customer self-sufficiency.
- Understand customer business needs and design solutions for quality, security, and compliance problems.
- Own customer delivery and outcomes from project initiation through completion.
- Develop custom integrations connecting Black Duck tools with SDLC and DevOps workflows.
- Provide trusted-advisor consulting and solution expertise in software testing and security.
- Collaborate with sales, sales engineering, customer success, product development, support, solution architecture, and project management teams.
Requirements
- Experience deploying both SaaS and on-premises software solutions.
- Software development experience with at least two of C/C++, C#, or Java.
- Strong scripting ability in one or more of Perl, Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Experience with project scoping and requirements gathering.
- Experience with Continuous Integration and DevOps tools.
- Strong client consultation and onboarding experience.
- Ability to prioritize activities, set objectives, meet milestones, and deliver projects on time.
- Understanding of open-source software libraries such as glib, OpenSSL, and Boost C++, including associated licensing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States or Canada without requiring current or future sponsorship.
