Base Salary
$160k - $183k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build products and tools that create value for Ibotta, its customers, or fellow engineers.
- Design, develop, and deliver products and features for millions of users with cross-functional teams.
- Use AWS infrastructure and advanced services, including serverless architectures, to build scalable applications.
- Decompose complex business problems and requirements into manageable sub-tasks.
- Use AI for software development and determine when to incorporate AI into products and production operations.
- Provide technical guidance, mentor team members, and champion engineering best practices.
- Contribute to CI/CD deployments, automated workflows, testing, code reviews, and evaluators for nondeterministic outputs.
- Own technical solutions end to end, from ideation and coding through production operation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field.
- Mastery of relevant programming languages, frameworks, and data stores such as TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, Java, Kotlin, Node.js, Vue, Swift, MySQL, DynamoDB, and Redis.
- Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, software architecture, scalable systems, observability, and fault tolerance.
- Strong ability to use AI tools for prototyping, coding, testing, debugging, and reviewing AI-generated code for production quality.
- Experience with context engineering, LLM API calls, prompting, agentic frameworks, RAG, vector databases, and model fine-tuning.
- Experience with unit testing, automated testing, debugging, and evaluation-driven development.
- Experience building, deploying, and operating automated workflows and agents using platforms such as n8n and Databricks.
- Understanding of observability, alerting, SLOs, security, compliance, performance, optimization, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
- Strong collaboration, communication, mentoring, product judgment, and incremental delivery skills.
