Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers working on the product roadmap while contributing hands-on to feature development.
- Oversee software architecture, source control workflows, CI/CD processes, and code reviews.
- Define and uphold coding standards, engineering best practices, and code quality improvements.
- Own architecture and design decisions, as well as the stability and performance of backend services.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to ship stable software on schedule.
- Contribute to the long-term technical vision and strategy for the area of responsibility.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience in a technical lead role designing and building complex backend systems.
- At least five years of professional software development experience.
- Deep knowledge of backend programming languages such as Python or Node.js and web frameworks such as Django or Express.js.
- Experience building web services with PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
- Proficiency with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
- Extensive experience with Linux/UNIX production environments.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, coding patterns, code quality, reliability, performance, and technical trade-offs.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Engineering degree required; B.E. in Computer Science preferred.
