Responsibilities
- Identify and define application system enhancements using development procedures, scripting tools, and code analysis.
- Consult with users, clients, and technology groups to recommend programming solutions and support customer-facing systems.
- Design, develop, test, debug, install, and support applications using Java and related technologies.
- Analyze applications for vulnerabilities and security issues and coordinate remediation with engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Advise or coach new and junior-level analysts.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to provide guidance on application security and remediation.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience applying Java, J2EE, HTML/CSS, JSP, Servlets, JDBC, Struts, Spring, and microservices.
- Thorough understanding of Java and web-development concepts including exception handling, object-oriented programming, collections, multithreading, HTTP sessions, servlet/JSP lifecycles, actions, events, implicit objects, and custom tags.
- Experience with Oracle or another industry-standard database on a UNIX platform, including database design, SQL scripting, and performance tuning.
- Awareness of unit-testing frameworks such as JUnit or TestNG and application or web servers.
- Angular experience is a plus.
- Experience with low-latency, high-availability transactional applications is a plus.
- Experience with JMS or Kafka is a plus.
- Exposure to DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Lightspeed, or Harness is a plus.
- Core Java, Java programming, or Python experience is relevant.
