Base Salary
$165k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable search services and distributed data stores for Amazon Music content discovery.
- Deliver search features end to end through requirements gathering, system design, coding, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Use appropriate data structures and algorithms while balancing scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Participate in code reviews and coach teammates on clean, maintainable software.
- Investigate operational issues, identify root causes, and implement permanent fixes to improve reliability.
- Collaborate with product, science, and engineering partners on search improvements, ranking, indexing, and new tools.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- 1+ years designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

- Base salary range is $165,200.00–$223,600.00 USD annually, with additional sign-on payments and restricted stock units.
