Responsibilities
- Drive technical and consumption strategy for the most complex customer engagements.
- Own senior-level technical relationships and advise executives on enterprise data and AI strategy.
- Lead architecture engagements involving multi-workload platforms, enterprise migrations, real-time systems, and AI/ML at scale.
- Serve as an expert on the Databricks Platform and apply a declared technical specialization across the team and region.
- Develop competitive strategies and lead competitive displacements and complex enterprise evaluations.
- Orchestrate DSAs, SSAs, partners, and product teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
- Coach and develop junior Solutions Architects on technical depth, customer engagement, and use-case prioritization.
- Contribute customer-facing content, workshops, community engagement, and Field Engineering thought leadership.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in solutions architecture, principal engineering, technical pre-sales leadership, or a senior customer-facing technical role.
- Expert-level coding proficiency in Python and SQL, with Spark/PySpark preferred; candidates complete a live coding assessment and platform build.
- Deep expertise in enterprise data architecture, distributed systems, streaming and real-time systems, lakehouse design, data governance, and cloud-native platforms.
- Expert-level Databricks Platform knowledge or equivalent competing-platform expertise with demonstrated rapid learning ability.
- Recognized depth in a technical specialization such as real-time architectures, ML/AI platforms, data governance, large-scale migrations, or industry solutions.
- Proven success driving consumption growth and platform adoption in large accounts.
- Ability to influence Directors, VPs, and C-level stakeholders on long-term data and AI strategy.
- Strong strategic thinking connecting technical architecture to business outcomes and revenue impact.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Databricks certifications, experience at Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Google, Microsoft, or a top-tier data/AI company, published thought leadership, and industry vertical expertise are preferred.
