
Principal AI Engineer

- Design, build, and deploy autonomous multi-agent workflows with conditional routing, parallel execution, state management, task decomposition, and error recovery.
- Architect graph-based agent workflows with 10+ nodes and develop reusable agent node libraries, platform patterns, versioning strategies, and workflow testing frameworks.
- Build asynchronous FastAPI applications integrating PostgreSQL, Redis, external enterprise services, streaming protocols, and event-driven APIs.
- Integrate AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and OpenAI GPT-4 with prompt management, tool calling, and external data-source integrations.
- Implement Redis checkpointing, Model Context Protocol, function calling, agent-to-agent communication, hybrid intelligence, and analytical response transformation pipelines.
- Implement Langfuse or LangSmith observability, agent tracing, telemetry, evaluation frameworks, performance monitoring, and LLM cost optimization.
- Ensure LDAP, SSO, access control, error handling, data governance, security, compliance, and Responsible AI standards across solutions.
- Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, UX teams, senior engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable agent workflows and streaming interfaces.
- Mentor junior engineers, participate in architecture reviews, and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- 9+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years building and deploying production LLM-powered applications.
- Expert-level asynchronous Python programming, including asyncio and async/await patterns.
- Production experience with agentic orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, or Autogen.
- Experience with cloud LLM providers including AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or OpenAI GPT-4.
- Experience building autonomous multi-step agent systems with conditional logic, state management, tool calling, ReAct, Plan-and-Execute, and tool-use patterns.
- Experience with Model Context Protocol and agent-to-agent communication frameworks.
- Experience with FastAPI, Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with LLMOps, Langfuse or LangSmith, prompt engineering at scale, prompt templating, versioning, and optimization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and distributed-team collaboration skills.
- Global life sciences experience, particularly in the GPS functional area, is preferred.
- Experience managing or collaborating with offshore technical development teams and diverse international stakeholders is preferred.
