Responsibilities
- Design and develop technical solutions for Citi’s data and reporting applications using Java, Spring, cloud-native architecture, and engineering best practices.
- Build resilient, stateless, scalable, maintainable, and testable applications with reusable components and automation.
- Contribute to CI/CD implementation and development standards using Citi and industry practices.
- Collaborate with business users, stakeholders, business analysts, product managers, QA, support teams, and other development groups to define solutions and requirements.
- Develop APIs, integrations, and shared components supporting the reporting platform and downstream applications.
- Analyze data quality, data integrity, business impact, performance metrics, and team efficiency to support data-driven decisions.
- Provide technical direction and sophisticated analysis throughout development and implementation phases.
- Partner with QA on functional and nonfunctional testing and with Support on production monitoring, health checks, and environment stability.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship while fostering collaboration and continuous learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.
- 8–10 years of experience designing and developing robust, scalable, and maintainable full-stack applications.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Java Core, concurrent programming, web technologies, REST APIs, and Java backend technologies including Spring Boot.
- Experience with Spring Core, Spring Integration, Spring Batch, JDBC, and Hibernate.
- Experience with distributed caching technologies such as Oracle Coherence, Redis, or equivalent tools.
- Practical experience with cloud computing, containers, microservices, and large datasets, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with relational databases such as Oracle.
- Experience with software development agents, CI/CD pipelines, software testing, code reviews, and scrum development.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly, adjust priorities, influence engineering teams, and guide technology decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Exposure to AI tools such as Claude Code, Devin, Copilot, or Anti gravity is advantageous.
- Financial industry experience is advantageous.
