Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and optimize production clinical applications for performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Develop server-side applications and backend components using Ruby on Rails and Elixir.
- Collaborate with frontend teams to implement interactive interfaces using Vue and JavaScript.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and scalable web application components.
- Deploy and manage applications on Google Cloud Platform and Azure and optimize cloud resources.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and resource management with Terraform, GitHub Actions, and Kubernetes.
- Design and maintain PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redis databases.
- Build and optimize data pipelines and workflows using Google Dataflow, Google Composer or Apache Airflow, and Kafka.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and improve logging, monitoring, alerting, and system observability.
- Address vulnerabilities, enforce security and compliance requirements, and follow healthcare data protection protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of relevant work experience, including at least 3 years engineering, delivering, and supporting production software products.
- At least 3 years of experience with Vue, Angular, or React, Ruby on Rails, and Elixir.
- Experience with Ruby and Elixir ecosystems, relational and in-memory databases, cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tooling.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, ownership, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare data standards, distributed systems, fault-tolerant architecture, or high-traffic consumer applications is preferred.
- Experience migrating Ruby on Rails applications to Elixir/Phoenix and open-source contributions in Ruby or Elixir communities are preferred.
