Senior Software Engineer, International Mid Market
Toast, Inc.Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performing, flexible, and scalable solutions for restaurant businesses.
- Deliver features end to end from design through rollout, monitoring outcomes and iterating based on real-world use.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, and business stakeholders on product development.
- Mentor less experienced engineers through design reviews, constructive feedback, and agent-assisted engineering practices.
- Use AI tools and LLM-based agents to improve development workflows, velocity, and team productivity.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend or full-stack experience delivering impactful products.
- Ability to read and integrate with frontend applications and work across the stack when needed.
- Interest in AI-assisted development, LLM-based agents, and tools such as Claude Code.
- Strong software development fundamentals, including code quality, unit testing, and clean code.
- Ability to work through ambiguity, collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, and adapt technical detail to different audiences.
- Curiosity, openness to feedback and change, and interest in growing toward broader ownership.
