Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and evolve highly available services for device identity, authentication, metadata management, and lifecycle workflows.
- Develop low-latency, high-throughput systems supporting application startup and access flows.
- Collaborate with User & Identity, Vehicle Services, Client SDK, Platform, and Data Engineering teams.
- Lead design reviews, code reviews, testing strategies, architecture discussions, and operational improvements.
- Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and improve reliability, observability, and performance.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience.
- Backend development experience with Scala, Java, Kotlin, or similar JVM languages; Scala and functional programming experience is highly desirable.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful web APIs in an enterprise environment.
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems and experience supporting multiple high-throughput production systems.
- Production experience with AWS, preferably across compute, databases, storage, containers, and serverless technologies.
- Experience with asynchronous programming models for high-throughput JVM systems.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle practices, source control, CI/CD, and testing approaches.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, curiosity, sound engineering judgment, and ownership of systems through production.
