Java Developer (Fitness Industry)

- Design and implement Java/Spring Boot backend services for equipment replacement and rotation capabilities.
- Develop and maintain GraphQL and REST APIs for Facility Connect applications.
- Integrate services with the Stats API, existing platform services, PostgreSQL, Firestore, and GCP services.
- Implement auditable end-to-end workflows covering recommendations, operator decisions, execution, and completion.
- Build event-driven workflows with Pub/Sub and support reports and data exports.
- Implement facility-scoped authorization, OAuth authentication, RBAC, and data-access controls.
- Integrate backend services with the AI/ML solution and related data services.
- Maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code configurations with the DevOps team.
- Support performance, scalability, reliability, security, and production-readiness requirements.
- Collaborate with frontend, technical leadership, product, QA, and DevOps teams, including Angular/GraphQL integration.
Requirements
- 6+ years of backend-focused professional software engineering experience.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience designing and implementing GraphQL and REST APIs.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL, relational data modeling, and query optimization.
- Experience with GCP and cloud-native application development.
- Hands-on experience with Google's Agent Development Kit (ADK).
- Experience with Firestore or comparable NoSQL/document databases.
- Experience with Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated cloud deployments.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging, preferably Google Cloud Pub/Sub.
- Understanding of OAuth, RBAC, least-privilege access, and enterprise application security.
- Experience developing reliable distributed workflows, including transactional and compensating patterns.
- Ability to troubleshoot performance, scalability, reliability, and production issues in distributed applications.
- Experience integrating backend services into established enterprise architectures and existing platforms.
- Working knowledge of Angular for collaboration with frontend engineers.
- English communication skills at B2 level or higher.
- Experience with fitness equipment platforms or operator-facing applications is preferred.
