Responsibilities
- Drive QA strategy for Kubernetes and cloud-native environments in alignment with business objectives and release deadlines.
- Lead risk analysis, test planning, and release-readiness metrics for large-scale, multi-cloud infrastructure and container orchestration.
- Architect test frameworks and infrastructure for microservices and infrastructure components across multi-cluster and hybrid-cloud environments.
- Design complex test scenarios covering production-like workloads, scaling, failure injection, recovery, system health, failover, and network resilience.
- Develop scalable test automation integrated with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes APIs, Helm, and service mesh tools.
- Promote repeatable and extensible infrastructure-as-code for test infrastructure.
- Mentor QA engineers and developers in risk-based, chaos, performance, and load testing.
- Serve as the QA authority in design reviews, production-readiness assessments, and incident retrospectives.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps engineers on monitoring, alerting, and debugging strategies for CI/CD test automation.
- Establish quality gates and data-driven feedback loops, and integrate performance, security, and chaos testing into the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software testing or quality engineering, including 4+ years focused on Kubernetes, cloud-native applications, and distributed systems.
- Leadership experience building and scaling test strategies in enterprise-grade environments.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes internals, cluster lifecycle management, Helm, service meshes such as Istio or Linkerd, and network policies.
- Strong scripting and automation skills with Python, Pytest, Bash, and related tools.
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Kubernetes security including RBAC and secrets management, and performance benchmarking tools such as K6.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, infrastructure provisioning, containerized CI/CD, Linux administration, networking, firewalling, routing, certificate and PKI management, Docker or containerd, kubectl, Helm with OCI registries, and GitOps or Flux.
- Experience influencing cross-functional teams and senior leadership, with strong technical and executive-level communication skills.
- Mentorship and coaching experience with at least one junior team member.
- Preferred qualifications include contributions to open-source Kubernetes or QA tooling, Kubernetes chaos-engineering experience, and certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
