Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize Invesco’s proprietary client-facing tools and self-service software applications.
- Build backend services and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, JSON, HTTP, OAuth, and JWT.
- Develop frontend experiences using ReactJS as part of a full-stack engineering team.
- Design and maintain distributed, microservices-based applications using AWS services and relational or NoSQL databases.
- Work with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Lead technical initiatives, solve complex engineering problems, and mentor other team members.
- Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum and LEAN environment to deliver high-quality products.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in backend software development.
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
- Extensive experience building RESTful APIs and solid understanding of microservices architecture.
- Hands-on AWS experience, including S3, RDS or DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS or EKS, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Frontend design and development experience with ReactJS.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, software design principles, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Familiarity with containerization using Docker; Kubernetes experience is a plus.
- Preferred experience with AI/ML services, AWS AI services, LLM integrations, AI-powered APIs, or data-driven applications.
- Preferred knowledge of event-driven architectures using Kafka, SQS, or SNS.
- Preferred exposure to DevOps practices and infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Preferred experience with cloud application security best practices and high-scale or distributed systems.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, leadership, and mentoring abilities.
