Responsibilities

  • Own automation projects from requirements definition through design review, implementation, documentation, and manufacturing deployment.
  • Build test and process automation systems integrating motion control stages, power supplies, fiber-optic and laser sources, optical and electrical instrumentation, cameras, and vision systems.
  • Develop machine vision and inspection automation for manufacturing.
  • Develop data acquisition and analytics layers for engineering and production insight.
  • Extend, modernize, and maintain existing software.
  • Collaborate with design, process, manufacturing, and production teams and communicate requirements, designs, and results clearly.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering physics, electrical engineering, or a similar field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in automation, test, or software engineering in a hardware environment.
  • Strong programming fundamentals and comfort with C#/.NET on Windows and Python for backend services, automation, and analytics.
  • Ability to independently define requirements and criteria and deliver projects with minimal direction.
  • Hands-on experience with instruments, motion systems, fiber, cabling, and signals.
  • Understanding of production requirements including uptime, throughput, repeatability, and production reliability.
  • Device physics, fiber optics, or photonics experience is a major plus.
