Responsibilities
- Design, build, and launch scalable, highly available software services for critical business and customer needs.
- Lead hands-on architecture, design, and implementation of complex systems with a focus on scalability, resilience, performance, and maintainability.
- Apply data structures, algorithms, and distributed-systems expertise to solve complex technical and production challenges.
- Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and architecture reviews while improving engineering standards and delivery quality.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve developer productivity, delivery speed, and execution outcomes.
- Define technical solutions based on customer needs and maintain end-to-end ownership of user experience, reliability, and business value.
- Provide principal engineer or architect-level technical guidance while continuing to build software hands-on.
- Improve cloud-native development patterns, architecture decisions, and operational readiness across services.
- Lead troubleshooting and technical deep dives for complex production issues and improve long-term service reliability.
- Mentor and inspire engineering teams through technical judgment, practical execution, and problem solving.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or related technical disciplines building and supporting enterprise-scale applications or services.
- 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching high-scale, highly available services in production environments.
- Experience with Java, .NET, or similar technology stacks and strong software engineering fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with system architecture, distributed-systems design, cloud-native development, and resilient service design in modern cloud environments.
- Experience conducting architecture, design, and code reviews that improve engineering quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Experience troubleshooting complex production issues and leading technical deep dives that improve reliability and customer outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, related experience, and/or military experience.
- Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools, financial services or payments, regulated high-availability environments, and mentoring engineers is preferred.
- Experience guiding engineering teams as a principal engineer, architect, or technical lead without direct people-management responsibility is preferred.
