Responsibilities
- Serve as the technology lead for Trade Finance solutions and align architecture and engineering decisions with business priorities, security requirements, and enterprise standards.
- Translate business and operational requirements into technical specifications, target-state designs, and executable engineering plans.
- Design and contribute to applications, APIs, integrations, data pipelines, infrastructure, and platform capabilities.
- Define engineering standards covering coding, testing, security, observability, performance, resilience, and continuous delivery.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and design support to engineers without direct people-management responsibility.
- Evaluate products, platforms, emerging technologies, technical viability, business cases, and modernization opportunities.
- Guide third-party integrations and collaborate with vendors and external partners on technical dependencies.
- Oversee technical quality across design, development, testing, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor application performance, reliability, security, and maintainability, and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform complex application design and development using technologies such as Scala, Java, Node.js, AWS, Spark, Kubernetes, Docker, and Jenkins.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and guide solution design, testing, and production implementation.
- Define AI strategy, evaluate business cases, establish governance controls, and guide AI-enabled transformation initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 10 years of hands-on software development experience, including at least five years providing leadership across complex applications or platforms.
- Strong understanding of commercial banking products, including lending, Trade Finance, and Supply Chain Finance.
- Proficiency in application and solution architecture, microservices, APIs, integration patterns, and cloud technologies.
- Application development experience with data platforms, SQL, ETL tools, and object-oriented languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
- Experience designing end-to-end data pipelines and CI/CD pipelines for application delivery.
- Ability to influence technical direction, facilitate architecture decisions, and work with cross-functional teams in Agile delivery environments.
- Experience with data engineering, data quality, model lifecycle management, and enterprise AI adoption.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Azure OpenAI, OpenAI services, Amazon Bedrock, or equivalent enterprise AI platforms.
- General understanding of user interface design principles and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management abilities.
- Experience with CGI Trade360, Loan IQ, or Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud is preferred.
- Strong Trade Finance domain knowledge and practical AI or generative AI experience are preferred.

- Base pay range of $149,000-$205,000 per year for New York/New Jersey, plus potential discretionary performance-based bonus or incentive compensation.
