Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable, resilient software systems using Java or Python.
- Execute software design, development, troubleshooting, and maintenance of production applications.
- Create secure, high-quality code and maintain algorithms that integrate appropriately with surrounding systems.
- Contribute to application architecture and design artifacts while ensuring software meets design constraints.
- Analyze large and diverse data sets and develop visualizations and reporting to improve applications and systems.
- Identify data patterns and hidden problems to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Design and implement blockchain solutions, including smart contracts and decentralized applications on public chains such as Ethereum.
- Use AWS cloud services to architect, deploy, and manage scalable applications.
- Lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices, including AI-assisted code review, refactoring, testing, and incident analysis.
- Establish standards for validating AI-assisted outputs for correctness, performance, security, and resiliency, and promote effective patterns across the team.
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and explore emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least five years of applied coding experience in Java or Python.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database-querying languages.
- Knowledge of the software development life cycle, application resiliency, security, and agile development practices.
- Experience with blockchain technologies and public chains such as Ethereum.
- Experience with AWS cloud services.
- Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience coaching engineers on safe and compliant adoption of AI-assisted development practices.
- Preferred: familiarity with modern front-end technologies, cloud technologies, smart contracts, decentralized applications, advanced CI/CD pipeline design, and Terraform scripting and infrastructure-as-code practices.
