Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 production support, incident triage, troubleshooting, escalation coordination, and root-cause analysis for real-time transaction platforms.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call operations, maintenance windows, implementations, system overhauls, integration testing, disaster-recovery tests, and cutovers.
- Install, configure, patch, secure, monitor, and manage the lifecycle of Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Windows Server systems.
- Automate operational tasks and standardize environments using Python, Bash, PowerShell, SQL, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, and related tools.
- Support AWS and hybrid-cloud operations, including compute, databases, storage, identity, networking, monitoring, secrets, and key-management services.
- Support CI/CD and release engineering through deployment readiness, build and package validation, configuration promotion, blue/green or canary deployments, rollback planning, and post-release verification.
- Monitor system and database health, transaction flows, queues, logs, cloud metrics, certificates, and service availability while maintaining dashboards, alerts, runbooks, and procedures.
- Support PostgreSQL and other relational databases through query analysis, backups and restores, data refreshes, connection troubleshooting, capacity reviews, and evidence collection.
- Maintain operational security through patching, vulnerability remediation, SSL/TLS certificate management, least-privilege access, secure configuration, encryption, and audit evidence.
- Coordinate with Operations, Development, QA, vendors, security teams, and customer-facing teams.
Requirements
- Associate degree in a related field is required; a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in operations support, DevOps, infrastructure, production support, cloud operations, or reliability engineering for enterprise-scale transactional platforms.
- Experience with lottery, gaming, financial services, e-commerce, or other regulated high-availability transaction environments is preferred.
- Proficiency administering Windows Server and Linux, especially Ubuntu LTS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including troubleshooting, patching, hardening, and performance analysis.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL/Postgres, RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, or comparable relational databases.
- Competence with Python, Bash, PowerShell, SQL, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools for scripting, debugging, automation, and evidence collection.
- AWS experience, including EC2, RDS/Aurora, S3, IAM, VPC, security groups, CloudWatch, Systems Manager, KMS, Secrets Manager, Route 53, load balancing, snapshots, high availability, and disaster recovery, is beneficial.
- Experience with virtualization, storage, networking, SSL/TLS certificates, IAM, system security, monitoring and observability tools, CI/CD, and production change control.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, collaboration, change-management, and auditability skills are required.
