Base Salary
$300k - $405k/yr
Responsibilities
- Optimize our virtualization stack for performance and efficiency.
- Design and implement kernel modules and system-level components.
- Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks in virtualized environments.
- Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to optimize workload interactions.
- Develop tooling for monitoring virtualization performance.
- Work with ML engineers to optimize systems for computational needs.
- Contribute to the design of next-generation compute infrastructure.
- Share knowledge on low-level systems programming with team members.
- Partner with cloud providers to influence hardware features.
Requirements
- Experience with Linux kernel development and system programming.
- Understanding of virtualization technologies like KVM and Xen.
- Experience optimizing system performance for compute-intensive workloads.
- Familiarity with modern CPU architectures and memory systems.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills, with knowledge of Rust preferred.
- Understanding of Linux resource management and scheduling.
- Experience profiling and debugging system-level performance issues.
- Comfortable with unfamiliar codebases and technical domains.
- Results-oriented with a focus on practical solutions.
