Base Salary
$320k - $485k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and ship Claude Design's core surfaces, including the design canvas and real-time editing features.
- Collaborate closely with research teams to create intuitive design experiences.
- Gather feedback from designers and users to iterate and validate product concepts.
- Set technical direction for frontend challenges like editor architecture and real-time collaboration.
- Design and run experiments to test product hypotheses and evaluate generation quality.
- Own the quality of the product's look and feel, focusing on latency and responsiveness.
- Facilitate the handoff to Claude Code for clean production translations.
- Act as a technical leader, shaping the roadmap and mentoring engineers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building full-stack applications with strong frontend skills.
- Experience setting technical direction and mentoring engineers while remaining hands-on.
- Strong design sensibility with attention to interaction details and polish.
- Proficiency in modern web stacks including React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- User-centric mindset, validating ideas with actual users.
- Flexibility to work across frontend, backend, and product challenges.
- Effective communication skills to translate complex AI capabilities into user-friendly experiences.
- Awareness of the societal impacts and ethics of AI work.
