Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and document scalable cloud solutions and services for SAS Viya deployments and managed cloud services.
- Develop automation using Python and other scripting languages, including workflow automation with tools such as n8n.
- Design and implement cloud-native architectures across Azure and AWS, including Kubernetes- and Docker-based deployments.
- Develop and integrate APIs and support application deployment, operations, and ongoing maintenance.
- Assess complex technical and business requirements and take ownership of initiatives with minimal guidance.
- Engineer solutions for scalability, reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability.
- Communicate risks, blockers, recommendations, and status with global internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and implement initiatives that support long-term customer success and value.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- At least ten years of software development experience, including at least five years in an architect role.
- Proven experience designing and implementing complex software systems.
- Proficiency with Azure, AWS, or both, plus Python, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud solution development.
- Experience with automation development, workflow automation tools, API development and integration, application deployment, operations, and support.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools and exposure to developer experience platforms or internal developer portals.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
- Preferred: master’s degree, familiarity with AI and ML technologies, networking design, security authentication and authorization protocols, cloud-native architecture, serverless computing, data architecture, data modeling, and data science technology and architecture.
- Strong communication, analytical, deductive reasoning, stakeholder collaboration, and customer-support skills.
- Ability to work flexible business hours to support global customer and business needs.
